Esme’s parents want other military families to know that “the EFMP program (exceptional family members) may be helpful to ensure you can be stationed in places that have civilian or military care to meet your child’s needs. Moving with a medically fragile child and changing their care team can be very stressful, however, Tricare can and will help find providers if you connect with the right people. We established care early on at a major pediatric heart center and traveled there annually.”
As she follows in her parents’ footsteps, Esme serves by giving her time to Beads of Courage, and by being a role model to the younger children involved in CHD Families of Tucson. We want to thank each member of her family for what they give back.
